Hello, I am very inexperienced when it comes to anything audio! :P

I currently have the Turtle Beach X11's that I got a couple of years ago, though I am now looking to upgrade. My main purpose will be to have better mic quality for streaming/chatting with friends and others, and to enjoy games, music, and movies more with better sound quality.

I am planning on getting the ModMic and some headphones in the $100 price range, I just need help choosing some good headphones.

A pair of headphones I was looking at was the Sennheiser HD439, I think they looked good, but I honestly don't know anything about headphones and really audio at all. lol

Also, I am currently using my on-board audio (Realtek ALC892, iirc), so I do not know if I need a sound card in order to run the setup. I would prefer not to get a sound card, as right now I am just trying to upgrade to something that I can enjoy more-so than my current setup and not try to get the best of the best.

Thank you!

Edit: If I need to get a sound card, I will then have to cut back on the price of the headphones. If need be, I am looking at the Asus Xonar sound cards in the price range of around $50.

As a note, I would like headphones that are also comfortable and durable as I am not just using these to listen to music every once-in-a-while, I'd be using these all day when I am doing work on my computer, gaming, listening to music, chatting with friends.

I am currently looking at the Audio Technica M30 and CALs, that's if I were to also get a $50 sound card or so.

If this helps, music I mainly listen to is indie/post-hardcore/acoustic:

There is a tread for gaming headphones. Search gaming guide on head-fi. My recommendation goes to AD700, btw.
