Looking for a match with my HD595

I recently bought a pair of Sennheiser HD595 headphones and really enjoy them, but I feel like I could still be getting more out of them. I currently just plug the headphones directly into my stereo at home but I'm interested in finding out how an amp can improve the quality.

I know nothing about amps but I want to invest in one that is simple enough for a newbie like me, but will still provide adequate power for my headphones. Any suggestions would be tremendous.

My budget is something under $500. Really could use any advice.
