Hello audiophiles, this is my first post on your forum so hopefully you will be understanding of my quite possible ignorance. I will explain the events that lead to my eventual registration on this site. I am a gamer but got tired of the headsets available to us, meaning bright colored cheesy designs, bad sound, and even worse microphones. So upon doing some research I discovered the Antlion detachable microphone and thought it would be a great idea to upgrade my "cans" as I see you call them, and use the Antlion mic. So with a little more research I landed on the Custom One Pros from Beyerdynamics. I know they're a little bit "gimmicky" still, but I'm somewhat of an artist so I jumped at the chance to be able to create my own side-plates. From what I understand they're still good headphones (not great) and I am enjoying them thus far. The only thing I am longing for (and why I am here) is an in-line volume control. The COPs have a detachable cord so I figured I'd be able to find one fairly easily using the trusty inter-webs. This is not the case. The only thing I can find is this really cheap gross looking one.

So if any of you more experienced fellows (or ladies) have advice as to how to remedy my dilemma I would be grateful. Thanks in advance.

This looks good, although you might need to use a headphone extension cable with it, since its cable is so short.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately not quite it. It has an un-necessary second connection. It would be awfully clunky next to my head. I'm far to OCD for that. I was just hoping to find a replacement wire for some headphone of good quality that has volume control embedded.

Here are some:

If you want a real volume control, I'd advise just using a headphone amp. The Pyle PHA40 is the most affordable desktop headphone amp I know of. I'm using it right now.

Thanks for the reply! That radioshack one doesn't seem too terrible. I am using an astro mix amp. It's just annoying to have to adjust the volume on an amp when I got so used to having it right by my forearm. The Custom One Pros have very low ohms so I'm not sure if a boss amp would do me much good.
