Buy different headphones, or buy an Equalizer.

Yeah, some information about your system would be helpful. Like which headphone, amplifier, source, cable, .. that you currently have.
...a budget would probably be helpful as well.

That said, I would replace the headphone with one known to have more bass. But thats just me.

A recable isn't a band-aid that's gonna fix your bass for you.
If you think the headphone is lacking in bass, try see if your source is sufficient enough, use a EQ, or start looking into other headphones.

thanks all for your help.

i am on a budget so all i can afford for now is a recable.

my setup is ipod>ALO Cryo SXC 22G LOD>ibasso D3 python>d1001

i tried the d1001 on the voyager and i love the bass quantity. however i am unable to change my amp to the voyager at the moment.

thus i am looking to recable my d1001 to have more bass quantity.

any suggestions for the cable choice?

thanks

I wouldn't bother trying to spend too much money on a re-cable for those cans were you gonna try and so it yourself?? otherwise depending on who does it you could spend more money on the cable than the HP are worth. the cans certainly are the weak link in your rig though

Why not just adjust the EQ in the iPod? There's a "Bass Booster" option.

Try a thicker copper cable to go with it. Mogami 2534, canare L4, etc..

Thicker cable does not equal more bass. This is like putting an exhaust on a Honda and expecting it to beat Ferraris. You need to save up for better cans like everyone has said.

i know, in the meantime i am going to try recable it myself.

the cost will not be a lot and i will be getting the improvements that i need.

thanks for the help guys. think i most probably going with Canare L-4E5C cable unless you guys have a better suggestions.

thanks for the help so far. i'm sticking with my d1001 for the time being.
