Looking for a balanced desktop dac for my Stax

  1. lucaxs
    Hi all,

I'm looking for a good balanced desktop dac for my Stax SR-L700 headphones and SRM-353X amp. I have the following idea for my setup:

External hdd (with all my music) ---usb---> PC ---usb---> DAC ---XLR cables---> SRM-353X ---> L700

I've stumbled upon a few dac's that are supposedly really good: the Mytek Digital Brooklyn DAC+, the RME ADI-2 DAC, the Benchmark Media DAC3 B and the SMSL VMV D1 DAC. There's also talk about the Okto Research Stereo DAC8 being really good, although it hasn't been released yet.

I'm hoping to get some good advice on what to do. Are any of these dac's good to combine with the Stax? Should I perhaps wait a while and see what happens with the Okto?

    Any help is appreciated :)
