its really weird because ive never heard my music sound this way. ive listened to a pair of Senn 555's and its weird because i felt an odd feeling after 10-15 minutes of listening so i tried to turn the volume up to see if i was just straining to hear but im actually listening to them at really low levels yet every bit of detail is coming through.

right now im listening to billie jean by MJ and you can actually hear the picking of the strings, ive never imagined there was this much detail to be heard in music before. and with queen the guitar is so alive when it kicks in!

the SR80 donut pads take some time to get used to, i can see why they called the SR60 pads "comfy" pads.

im a little disapointed with the amount of bass because im used to my AKG's is moving up in the Grado line going to alleviate any of that?

im still VERY VERY happy with my purchase and goodcans.com was extra helpful all the way.

btw everyone get the queen platinum collection. sounds great on Grados =)

so if i need more bass, other than EQ, (which helped tremendously, i didnt think you could practically put any sound/s thru these without distortion) do i just go back to my AKG240's or going up in the Grado line going to help

You can try the tape mod. Basically, take some electrical tape and wrap it around the outside of the bowl pads...be prepared!

Well my morning was even better...

I woke up to a pair of rs-2, and I am stunned they have such a deep bass that I still do not belive it...

They are used, but not very much, so I do not know if they are burnt in yet, but if it gets better I will be extatic, in lack of better words..

I have benn listening to a lot of guitarrock and I think this is where they really excell, have also listened to Queen's Platinium collection and the OP is so right...

Regarding the comfort, I was surprised how comfortable they are and how light they are, maybe it is because of my "soft" and pliable ears, because my wife think they are uncomfortable, but what do I care ???? LOL

The only thing I miss in them is an other plug, the smaller one so it would fit in my portable amp....

Congrats, I really like the look of the Grados, but here they are ungodly expensive.
Maybe I'll get a low-mid level pair when I see some up in the FS boards for a good price, to see what the fuss is all about.

Act fast because Grado,s do not last very long on the F/S forums. I have Beyer 990's but am thinking about picking up a pair of SR-125, they can be had from Audioadvisor for $150 with free shipping.

Not at the moment, budget won't allow for it.

Trading up to a higher end grado wont be the answer for the added bass it sounds like you you are looking for.

Well, the SR-225's definitly have more bass than the SR-60's and the 80's, and while the RS-1's don't have more bass quanity than the 225's, they do have much tighter, better defined bass, which may or may not be what the OP is looking for.

For more bass I say take a look at the source, I see in your profile you have a zune, is that your main source, or are you using a pc as source also? Are you running an amp? If not and your budget is tight start with a budget amp such as the Pocket Amp 2 V2 that should help some with the bass, also try burning them in with "Pink Noise"20 minute clip here, just set it to loop and let the can's play when your not going to be listening to them.
