So last night something made me A/B my MX500s with the phones that came with my iRiver H320.

Turns out they're MX400s. With unequal length cords and a straight gold plug.

I apologise to anyone to whom I said that those stock buds were junk.

Funny how they sound better now knowing theyre Senn's .... huh??

The psycho-effect on thte human ear is very underestimated IMHO, in just about every audio forum I frequent.

Well I knew they were senns already, thanks to the "Sennheiser" text and logo on both of them

But I thought they were the even cheaper ones, but I guess not. Oh well

Let me get this straight:

You first thought the included earbuds were MX300s and labeled them as "absolute crap." You said you "have MX500s and they are much better." Then, after finding out that the included earbuds are actually MX400s, you change your mind?

wow the favoritism was completely uncool. Even though I am unfamiliar with these guys I don't like how this was played out. And why is this hosted by the 2 most ****** bag alliances in the game.

Seriously, this thread is a testement to the positive psychological effects of a brand name. That's scary.

Maybe....*runs away*

Honestly I only listened to the stock buds for like 2 minutes before last night. So I might have made some premature comments lol. I still don't really like them or the MX500s that much (they sound EXACTLY the same), and I haven't used those for a while. They just seem a bit congested and not very enjoyable. But as earbuds go, they are pretty good, especially for the price.

Yup, I'm a dumbass

I really don't find that there is any substiantial difference between MX300 and MX500.

So in conclusion, your final judgement has been upgraded from
- included earbuds sound like absolute crap compared to MX500s
to
-included earbuds sound exactly the same as MX500s

Is that correct?

No, actually, I think you just jumped the gun with your conclusions at first, we all do it once in a while, it's no biggie. ReDVsion's point was also a very good one.

The reason I asked the last question is because it has been stated that the MX500s are simply MX400s with an in-line volume control. In spite of this, there are people who insist there are differences between the two. I've only had the MX500s myself, so I needed your thoughts while they were fresh (buying a pair for a friend.)

Cheers =)
