I'm a die hard MP3 player user and really enjoy having a nice slim Sansa Fuze to throw into my pocket. It's light, small, and I don't care if I scratch it up a bit. I'd really like a upgrade however but I want something very neutral, with a low output impedance, relatively small, and that I won't need to take out a bank loan if I lose it :) ... Any ideas?

Fiio M3 if you don't need a line out, X1 if you do.

+1 for the X1 in case you want an amp down the road

If you're looking for a neural sounding DAP then I would not recommend the Fiio X1. It has a warmish slightly bass heavy sound signature.

Odd considering that the X1 I purchased sounds bass shy to me :frowning2:

Any other suggestions for something slim and portable? The fiio players seem odd in that they are thick, bulky, and the battery life is bad.
