Hi,

I was just wondering if there is a certain volume my iPod should be at to get the best sound quality with the SE530s. Given that I believe the se530s have a volume control thingy included with them (with one of the various cable extensions). Should the lower the iPod volume equal better audio quality if I turn it up with the Shure volume attenuator? Or should the iPod volume stay around 1/4th or half way up?

Pretty small meaningless question but I still have a week or so before I get these headphones so I figured I might as well get some of these smaller questions answered. Thanks!!

edit: my iPod is a generation 5 Black Video ipod

There's generally no need to use the attenuator with a DAP. It is primarily for systems with a very high output level such as that sometimes found on airplane entertainment systems, etc.

Let me rephrase your question?

What is the optimal volume level of ipod for the se-530 to sound at best? We all know that bass roll-off is noted on higher volume, right?

Thank you haha. And the treble rolls off so what would be a good median for this? Thanks again!
