The seventies version of Little Feat with the now deceased Lowell George made amazing rock & roll boogie. I particularly enjoy their early studio albums Dixie Chicken and Sailin' Shoes as well as their live Waiting For Columbus. I generally listen at moderate volumes but in the case of LF, I make an exception.

Ive enjoyed Feats Don't Fail Me Now ever since I bought it last summer. Oh Atlanta and Spanish Moon are fantastic songs. I have a cool cover of Spanish Moon from a live Govt. Mule box set Live...With a Little Help From Our Friends That version is just over 20 minutes long

not a huge Little Feat fan myself, but married into a copy of Waiting for Columbus that i quite like.

first of all, the sound quality of the album is phenomenal.
secondly, the band is tight.

nothing beats a good live album with a tight band and good SQ.

Kicked by the wind, dropped by the sleet,
Had my head stove in, but I'm still on my feet, and I'm still,
In a whole lot of trouble.

Smuggled some smokes, some folks from Mexico,
Baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico
And I'm still...

And I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari,
Tahachapi to Tournapaw.
I've driven every kind of rig that's ever been made.
Driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed...

Are you kidding me?! I LOVE IT!!

It's good old fashioned rock and roll IMHO. I think Waiting for Columbus is one of the best live albums out there, and a favorite of mine.

I listen to Waiting for Columbus as much or more than any of my CDs. Great songs with great energy. I don't care what mood I'm in when I put it on. I'm doing just fine by the time it's over. "Willin'" is one of my fav songs of all times. I always put it on repeat once or twice and sing (badly) along. Uh...as an non-audiophile, I might add that it's great music to clean your house by also. Happy, move your arse music!

Also worth checking out is the Lowell George solo project Thanks I'll Eat It Here. Apparently tension with Billy Payne kept Lowell from letting loose with his sense of humor, ennui and singing prowess. Thanks I'll Eat It Here gives a glimpse of where an unfettered Lowell George was headed.
