I know that of course the MKII can handle 600 ohm laods but however the question is is will they power 600 ohm headphone, specifically Beyerdynamic DT880/DT990 600's, which are known to be relatively easy to drive, to a decent potential?

Reason I ask this is well, I'm help making a nice headphone setup for someone who asked for my help and I was gonig to recommend a DT880/DT990 600 ohm (dependant on what he wants, natural sounding vs. slightly mroe bass) + a Little Dot MKII tube amp to power them. His source would be an Asus Essence STX.

TIA.

Should be no problem. That is assuming you are coming off a normal source (2v) and not a portable source. I easilly drive my HD650 at low gain.

A much harder load for it would be something with low ohms and low sensitivity
(e.g., akg701).
