Hi, I have the Denon D2000 and have been searching Head-Fi for a good amp in the $250-300 range and came across the Little Dot Mk V many times. I have read that it has hissing problems with low-impedance headphones. However, I could buy a resistance adapter for it. Do you think this amp would provide enough weight and slam to the D2000? I know they like a high-current source. If not, what other amps do you suggest?

Thanks

the hiss seems to be related to the voltage of the power supplied ie if the transformer's fed 230V rather than the 220V it was designed for then there'll be a hiss etc. I remember reading somewhere that little dot HAS made a change recently to address this issue. Haven't heard a lotta news regarding the results of this change yet.

The entire Little dot series was designed with high impedence headphones in mind eg hd600/650 but some have reported good results with denons too. You can try using a resistance adapter but keep in mind that it also alters the sound charcteristics of your headphone slightly. I find that it makes headphones more bassy and the soundstage collapses slightly... but it might be just me =P

still like the amp though

anyways, hope this helps =)
