Hello,

I'm currently wondering if I should purchase the Little Dot MK III or the Darkvoice 336 or the Corda Arietta as my first desktop amp ?

This amp will be use with my DT880 and my ERP4-S.

The type of music that I listen is Prog-Metal. (Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater, Riverside, Pink Floyd, Anathema.)

Thanks

Patrick

I think that LD MKIII is in another class than Arietta. I have owned Headfive and though it was nice with K701 and SA5000, it lacks the beauty parts which LD MKIV SE gives to me in music. I find music more enjoyable and less fatiqueing through tubes.

I just thought I'd chime in and agree with those suggesting the MKIII. It would be great to get one of those! Everyone that posts about them, has great things to say about theirs.

And you don't see many Little Dots on FS-forum (okay, II++ are going now because of the MKII)

I own the LDII+ and basically it isn't good with any headphone I try it with. It has only enough headroom to do chamber music. I listen to Opeth, Porcupine Tree, KSE, Dream Theater, it couldn't play Ghost Reveries to save it's life, I have tried it on Senns, grado, and AKG k701 all sounded congested through the LD, I would recomend checking out a Cayin, or Dark Voice.

Thanks for your feedback.

The more that I read here, the more that I think that I will have to audit both the Darkvoice 336 and the Little Dot MKIII before taking a final decision..

I'm wondering if a different combination of tube would help the Little Dot MKIII with Prog-Metal ?
