List 3 of your cans, but which will you never part with!

of the cans that i've had the luck of owning thus far, i'd say:

qualia 010
sennheiser hd650
grado hf1
sony cd3000

with the exception of the hd650, the other three aren't being produced anymore. i really enjoy the way that they all individually sound so it's hard for me to part with them.

I like it!! Did you ever hear the MS-Pro's? Has a very similar sound to the RS-1, but I feel it has more seperation, and is also a bit warmer sounding, but by no means dark!

I've just learned that there is no such headphones. Before listening to W5000 I was certain that at least SA5000 would never go, but I was wrong. I wonder if there's anything affordable to beat W5000 now.

out of the 7 i own i can say there are 2 i will definitely be holding onto for a very long time:

E4 - wonderful iem. makes me feel smug being able to have terrific sound in isolation when i'm on the subway or the plane or wherever. rounds out my portable rig very nicely.

DR150 - there may be better but i doubt there are cans that are more fun than the Goldrings. they have thoroughly spoiled me especially considering the price of admission. off the beaten path gems - just the way i like it!

alessandro ms1's... except when they physically wear out.

The comfy pads are already very green...
Also both the cable covering and the red wire insulation have worn down to the bare wire where the cable goes into the headphone.. will be a very sad day for my amp when the blue wire insulation wears completely and shorts the wires

I'm not sure I can be justified in keeping the k1000 and charlize combo when the little ms1, and ra1-clone combo just makes music...

I've only got two that fit this category.

1. Beyerdynamic DT-770. I'll probably never sell it because it is my first really good headphone.

2. Sony MDR-EX71SL. We've been through a lot together. I lost a silicone earbud at an awesome concert, so now I'm using the gray medium silicones from a friend's white EX71 (mine is black and its silicones were black). I also accidentally ran them through the washer and dryer, and they still work fine.

Of the above 3, the AKG k1000s are here to stay. Of corse, I can't say I will NEVER sell them. If it comes down to paying the rent, or keeping a pair of headphones, the headphones will go every time.

Since I have a pair of GS-1000s on order, who knows what I will end up doing with the HF-1s and RS-1s. It is going to be a three-way shoot out, and I am sure at least one will be going...

Not kidding, I'm seriously in the same position! I own the exact same 3 cans listed (in no order) with the GS-1000s on the horizon.

i just found this thread and am renewing it to see what folks are saying now, and also because it gave me a bit of a laugh recognizing that many of these cans their owners decided to part with!

"Never" is a long time. I don't think I'll part with the HE90 or R10 (although I did recently sell one, I've still got two left. Three R-10's was a bit much

). K-1000 probably fits in that group. Everything else? Who knows? I sure don't.

ATH W10VTG
HHF1 Zebra
UM2s

I honestly could live with just the VTGs, but I'd have a hard time parting with the HHF1s because people undervalue them.
