List 3 of your cans, but which will you never part with!

My HF-1's! These will be with me for a long time for sure.

No three cans have stayed around long enough for me to say they were indispensable. Everything comes and goes. (Presently I've only got one, with another one on the way. A third will be feasable in a month.)

My top three? Well, since the GS-1000's and E500's haven't arrived, I guess the top three would be:

Grado PS-1
AKG 701
Senn HD650

Which would I never part with? None. I don't think I could ever get so attached to a piece of gear that I'd never want to sell it if I came across something I liked better.

That's all I have :| Don't plan to part with the LTDs, they are my first (and so far only) hi-fi cans.

I would classify the Koss' as hi-fi too! Cost is not a factor in that classification.

I am sure I would sell if I needed to what what not, but here we go:

1. L3000 (I absolutely love these!)
2. HE60 (I haven't had these for very long, but I am loving them so far.
3. EP-630 (great for portable and they see a lot of use)

The others:

1. HD580 (I use only for games and sometimes for movies)
2. HF-1 (These have been a lot of fun to work with, but I don't really listen to them)
3. CD3000 (Just another project)

The only one's I wouldn't sell are the EP-630's because I just don't know what I would replace them with.

Of the ones I've got right now, the only one I think I'd never get rid of is the DT531. It has such great comfort and such a nice, enjoyable, never annoying sound, and it was relatively inexpensive. Add to that the fact that they're almost impossible to find, and my set is mint, and well they ain't goin' nowhere

My E5 is almost definitely leaving for E500's eventually. The DT831, well I guess I might get rid of it someday if I had to, but I see no real other reason I'd eve get rid of them. The SA5000 might be leaving in the future, since it gets little use with the W5K around. The W5000, well I guess I WOULD sell them if I found something that I liked more, or if I hit a real financial crisis.

1. HF-1
2. ATH-W1000
3. ATH-W5000
4. ATH-AD2000

I really dig the HF-1 sound and it has made me a Grado fan. That's saying alot considering the SR225 had turned me into anti-Grado guy for a long time.

1. Shure E4s (Because I can't see myself ever spending $500 for E500s)
2. KSC75s (Because headphones that sound this good and are this cheap will always be worth keeping around)
3. EP-630 (Best cheap, descrete headphones that I can find)

Funny that none of my expensive stuff is something I'd never part with.

1. HD-650, this one never lets me down.
2. ER-4, Need for portable use or when I need to shut out the world around me.
3. Still deciding. MS-Pro is auditioning at this moment.

my HP-2s aren't going anywhere. my Etys will stay with me unless i finally get something like UE-10s. even then i very well may just keep the Etys. my PX-100s aren't worth selling and fit my uses perfectly.

Sorry for taking this thread a little off the rails, but I was wondering what your impressions of these are. Mainly when listening to metal, I see your avatar is Ghost by Rage, so I figure metal is your style of music. I was offered these in a trade, but I havent read much about them beyond a few light searches, if you could post, or PM me about the your impressions it'd be greatly apperciated.

As for the list, well, I dont know yet. I'm still searching around, and getting ready to trade my Ultrasone HFi-550 is search of radically different sounds. I must say I'll probably always keep my Sennheiser EH150 as they are just really nice to keep as a backup in emergancy situation.

Hmm..

1. KSC-35

The best price-to-performance ratio headphones ever made, AFAIK (there could be better out there, of course). Everything else I own is a total waste of money compared to the KSC-35s. If my other, ~$180 cans had the same ratio as the ksc-35s, based purely on sonic performance (ignoring build quality, comfort, etc.), neither would cost more than about $15 (I got the KSCs for $13, and consider them to be more than 85% the sonic quality of the more expensive cans - I actually tend to prefer the KSC-35s for most tracks, anyway). I would never sell the ksc-35s, but would gladly sell the HD-595s and SR225s if I weren't so lazy and unwilling to deal with people one-on-one over the internet.

Anyway, enough of that.
