$1,000 and $2,000 respectively! that is a lot of money and they are quite large for truly portable use. The Chassis dimensions on the Prototype are 4" Wide X 2.1" High and 8.2" Deep. Yes they may sound great but ...

The Porta-code is the Best portable Headphone Amplifier, Headphiles that have Listened to the Previous Headcode can attest to it's magic, Imagine this same sound in a portable. How is this different from the Expedition well Cost. Expect to pay around $2,000 USD for the porta-Code and less than Half of that Cost for a LISA III Expedition.

Mind you guys there are two versions of LISA III.

The LISA Expedition which Phil referred to in his post was the one with a beefier power supply and apparently the more expensive one.

I would expect the standard version of the LISA III will be somewhat cheaper than the Expedition and I would guess it should be around USD750.

For me I won't take the LISA as a mobile amp which I carry around. The Xin amps are truely mobile / portable. I am planning to have the LISA Expedition as my office setup, where foot print is important, to replace the Solo MC which I have sold.

For my home setup, my core will be the RPX-100 and the WA6.

get real.....how the hell it could be that expensive since materials used are sure lower than 200USD. You can sell of idea for 300USD but going far as 1-2k...beats me.

Please till now there is no firm price from the manufacturer yet, I asked personally Phil yesterday, they are still trying to determine it...we are all speculating here...

Sorry but if you feel that way, simple don't get it....The price is a manufacturers decision, and you have no right at all to judge that, as you don't know how many hours of R&D, and how many hors of matching components and selection, and labor are involved. Also prices reflect the numbers of how low or big the sales will be, one thing compensates for the other, lower sales, bigger prices, larger sales you can drop the price.

We have seen a lot of rip offs in the market recently, and honestly I do not feel this is one of them at all, being the best transportable amp ever made as many have claimed it is...

Most of the portable amps today in the market, are hardly a little different from a CMoy. Maybe what? An OPamp followed by a buffer, most of the times another IC, not even discrete, and how much are they 300-500??? And how much is a CMoy, like 50 bux??? A double for a nice developed and engineered amp is IMO not that bad, three channels, discrete diamond buffers, ICs in a peculiar configuration, etc, etc...

Then we shall wait till official price is announced. However, I wonder how many people would order 1-2k for portable amplifier...

If it is as good as pre-screenings has shown and it is available then lots of people will go for it.

I feel like starting a flame war so I'll ask this question: what about the Diablo? I don't know how anyone can trust LaRocco Audio after the BS he pulled on that unit. It's gotta be at least 2 years in the making and nothing on the money that people put to hold their space in line as a "pre-order". Phil has a lot of chutzpa (gall, audacity) to start talking about other amps. He should be talking about refunds...

No, that's completely wrong. Phil Larocco the man has NO business connection with Larocco Audio, the company. Larry Milligan is the "owner" of Larocco Audio. The Diablo fiasco is Larry Milligan's doing, and should not reflect negatively on Phil Larocco. Larry was licensing and producing Phil's designs but Phil had no involvement in the company. Phil has stated this unequivocally. So you should NOT flame Phil for doing what he is doing. I am thrilled that Phil has hooked up with someone who at least is saying all the right things about not selling amps until they are in stock, etc.
