Lisa Iii Dyi?

Perhaps a dumb question...

I am interested in building a LISA III....however, I am having trouble finding a thread/page/site that shows how to build the thing, a BOM, schematic, or anything.

The LISA III can be done DYI-style, right? If so, can someone point me in the right direction?

If anyone else has other good info that would be great. I was hoping there would be a site or something similar to all the great info for the AMB labs.

the LISA III isnt a DIY Project. We're just a bunch of lucky people that great designers like Uncle Phil would actually be willing to release the schematics of his commercial amplifiers.

Don't expect anything more than a schematic.

However, the LISA III isnt hard to build on a perfboard, you should definitely try it out.!

I was digging around more and I saw a thread that said the PCB's were a limited time deal....oh well.

Maybe I will consider pony-ing up the $500 for a Triad Audio one.

Anyway would it be reasonable ask Triad Audio share PCB layout drawing so then we can pull board group buy on our own?

iirc phil (ppl) was going to run a number of the LISA III commercially

then once he was satisfied, would then release PCBs

i read it all a long long time ago, so can't remember what the specifics were

but phil also didn't want any variation in parts/specs/used because he already used the best/most appropriate parts in each of their respective positions and hence a kit was suggested but might not be worth the expense/trouble for him/triad so i think that idea got dropped

The schematics in the links above are just prototypes, I think. Using AD744 in all 3 channels will make it a thin sounding amp. It's also more complex, and the "Dyn-o-bias" was said to be unstable used in PPA.

I just can't understand why it wasn't made smaller, or when going for this huge size - why on earth not choose AAA's for increased battery life.

It should be 14 cells, but I guess 12 or even 10 would be quite enough for this amp to sound good. 7 AAA's isn't that much bigger than a 9V, and (at least) in Sweden the price is the same.

The latest "LISA III Box set" contains schematic PCB , and parts list for folks that wish to Roll there own. Some time DIY PC Boards are planed but i do not know when these will be available.
