Looks like a retuned Timeless.

The Dioko looks to be a more neutral Timeless with a more "correct" pinna gain, might also have a bit of extra air.

Would buy one right now, but I need the $$$ for another mid-fi IEM I'm planning to grab.

A fair amount of additional sub-bass extension too. Like a more refined Timeless across the whole FR. But the graphs can be deceptive. I pre-ordered a set. Many of us did, so impressions should hit soon…

Wake me up when there's a planar in the opposite direction, at ~$500. I want better sound, not more affordable sound.
That'll probably happen sooner than you think.

Once the budget planar wars end, I'm guessing companies will step their game with a planar flagship.

It does look odd, but I am much more concerned about the housings not having a holding trough for 2-pin connectors to stabilize. Having a pin break off of a cable and get stuck in the socket is extremely annoying, to say the least.

For people concerned with iem color, I THINK it’s not neon purple, it’s more like a polished opal. The purple reflections could come from glass coating. The neon color is a reflection of a white lighting surface (usually a big softbox or a light tent) colored by the coating (same as this product photo of 7hz Eternal)
Very interesting.
The color issue is trivial I can fix that easily.
Saying that it does look like dark opals black opals with purple-ish hints.
But what I care about is how they sound.
I'm going to compare it to the lcd i3 and i4 I know its not fair but these two have great Soundstage presentations.
Are they different from the timeless, I hope they're especially in the Soundstage department.

It's a pity 7hz didn't reuse the Eternal shells on the Dioko because it looks way doper than the final shell used on the Dioko.

Even the prototype shells I saw on reddit back in May look nicer than the final design,

Final Dioko shell is fine though not something I'd call eye candy like the Eternal.

Speaking of actual candy, that's actually what the Dioko faceplate reminds me of: A lolipop.

Yes I agree the eternal was a show piece.
Regardless of how they sounded, they looked great.
From what I understand it's a special type of glass according to Linsoul.
I still think the audeze lcd i3 has the best looking grill of any iem.
Lol it's also one of the very few open back iems lol.
The color can be fixed the sound not very much lol, even with eq.
I kinda trust crin and I really hope that he did a great job tuning these iems.

Agreed the Eternal was a true eye candy. Just liked its design the most in 7Hz lineup so far.

That’s a damn shame… I really hope it’s full neon!

We've removed a number of posts that were well outside of Head-Fi's Posting Guidelines and gave some folks a short break from the thread. We ask that everyone please keep the discussion focused on Linsoul's new collab and not one another. I want to offer a special thanks to everyone that didn't turn the thread into a shouting match and ket the focus on the gear, it's greatly appreciated.

And now, let's please get back to the Salnotes Dioko.
