I thought I'd start a thread for owners of, and people interested in, the Linear Tube Audio (LTA) UltraLinear+ (UL+) and Z40+ flagship amplifiers and integrated amplifiers:

Head-Fi has threads for the LTA MicroZOTL and Z10 amplifiers, but not for the ones above.

I'm tagging a couple of people I know to own these: @PaisleyUnderground and @dB Cooper.

Tube rolling for these amps is one of the things I hope to see discussed on this thread. I own the UL+ integrated, and two pairs of 12AU7s (preamp and power amp sections) and one pair of 12AX7s can be rolled.

While most people who own these will be using them with speakers, I currently only use Focal Utopia 2022 headphones.

MZ3 user here with Utopia 2022. I’m completely happy with the combo. However (there’s always a however), I also use it as preamp into a Pass Labs XA25 power amp that feeds a pair of Focal Kanta No.2. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with the Z40+ in particular with Focal speakers and could tell me their impressions? I’m thinking of selling both MZ3 and XA25 and buying the Z40+. Partly for space saving, partly for simplicity, partly because I like the MZ3 so much.

Oh, I wouldn’t be thinking of it as preamp. I’d sell my MZ3 AND my current power amp and just replace it with an LTA integrated.

I’m wondering if anyone is running Focal speakers with their LTA integrated
