The stock version has no switch, it was designed like that, and intended to work like that.

This switch was implemented on his amp as a personal request, but as the front panels need to be modified, and that takes time and too much hassle, we decided to avoid it, and it will not be available as a mod for any future order from now on.

In any event that Rudi acepted as an extraordinary exception to offer it, it will make the amp a custom amp, non returnable, and it will take an extra month to be done, and of course extra cost of the modification of the panel, but from now it will no longer be availalbe as an aditional mod...

Hi Guys,

Just got my new rig, balanced all the way from source to head. The setup is;

Transporter - RPX100 - Balanced RS1
rs1smile.gif

In addition I'm using the pre-amp function to send the signal down to my power amp, so I'm using the maximum functionality. The sound on balanced mode is incredible - that's all I can say.

Will post some pictures once I've worked out how to do it.

Regards,
Craig.

& I thought my balanced phones sounded good on my DAC1.. Must be another world experience on that thing..

Very nice!
Balanced is the way to go. I noticed a huge improvement going from single ended to fully balanced (XLR).

Hi Valeite,

What I wanted from the amp was that the output should either go to the headphones, or the speakers, but not both at the same time. According to Rudi he considered the best way to accomplish this for maximum sound quality was to have a selectable switch, rather than for example an internal relay which switches as the headphones are connected/disconnected. Is your model different?

The sound quality is fantastic, really amazingly clear and dynamic.

Hi vcoheda,

The RS1's are new from Grado via Moon Audio who request the balanced mods.

Regards,
Craig.

No switch on mine. If used as a preamp I would unplug the headphones and yes the sound is just as I hoped and more.

Now for the bad news!

On July 26th many of the largest internet radio providers will be going silent in protest of the drastic rate increases set by the Copyright Royalty Board. SaveNetRadio.org is spearheading the Day of Silence in a last ditch effort to save internet radio as we know it.

So far the list of participants includes Yahoo!, Live365, Rhapsody, MTV Online, Pandora and many others. Live365 will be redirecting all 10,000 of its stations to a Day of Silence stream that offers an explanation, broadcaster testimonials and a call to action.

"We understand the possible disruptions this may cause, but feel drastic measures are necessary. By joining together with all other Internet radio stations Live365 will show them what they can look forward to if things don't change quickly ... Silence." -Live365.com

On July 15th, seventeen months of retroactive royalty payments based on the new rates will be owed by the internet radio providers because of the recent Copyright Royalty Board decision. In turn, these payments will silence nearly all of the internet radio providers indefinitely.

Congrats, coop250! That's a beautiful rig! I really like the tough, no-nonsense look of the RPX-100. Can you tell us about the transporter in the lineup? I always wonder if a separate DAC would make a bit of difference. Also, how are the balanced interconnects set up?

Up until now, my main source has been the computer. However, I decided to get a halfway decent CDP (RCD-1072) to see if there's any real difference. It'll be arriving in about a week so I'm beginning to wrestle with interconnect issues.

this is what Rudi vrote me;
"Front switch is an option, we do not charge for it but it can delay of a
couple of day the shipment."
