How long should Etymotic foamies last? i've had mine on the er-6 since i got them, and they seem a tiny bit flat. Also, on the ends by the actual drivers, they seem a bit... eaten, for the lack of a better word.

Someone also mentioned that retrofitting the ER-6 with ER-4 foamies would make them more comfortable. Is this true, or should i just order more er-6 foamies? Thanks!

Hi Terraphoenix- I've used my ER-6 foamies for almost 1 month (about 50-60 hours in total) and they are ready to go. Just ordered online a couple sets from ER.

I've read that their lifespan depends a bit on how clean your ears/hands are when using them as well as type of activity (e.g. sitting on a train vs. running on a treadmill)

I've also read on this forum that you can wash them and let them dry for a few days and that gives them some extra lifespan. Will try that when the new ones arrive.

What do you mean 'a bit eaten' by the drivers?

it just looks flattened and somewhat seperated from the plastic tube it's glued to.

Can someone tell me about retrofitting the er-4 foamies on the er-6?
