LG Quadbeat 3 Impressions Thread

Quadbeat 3 is already impressive, wondering what they will do. Likely it will follow the Olive Welti curve as the Harmon Kardon tuned LG HBS900 did. I saw this color first in a video as it apparently is included with the new LG V10.

I picked up some Quadbeat 3 and another pair of Xiaomi Piston 3 since my first pair died within a month (snapped the 3.5mm connector - so cheap/weak). I wonder which will sound better? Especially being since I picked up some Comply S200 tips to go along with both.

Went to LG service center today and bought the Quadbeat 3 AKG version. It's 24000KRW(21USD) in Korea.

Now we'll all anxiously wait for your frequency graph comparison between the Quadbeat 3 AKG version and the regular version

Nice work! So apparently it's the same as the old but with less subbass and a bit more midbass. That's exactly what shotgunshane was looking for! Lol

Measurement done.

Thanks for waiting. To my ears, new QB3 has slightly better isolation because its vent is blocked. but due to emphasized bass response, sound of original QB3 is more sonorous to me.

Speakerphone, thanks for the quick frequency graphs and comparison graphs. It makes me wonder how much LG paid AKG to close the vents and the rights to print "tuned by AKG" on the box and behind the remote. To be honest, I'll stick to my original Quadbeat 3 after all the few dB of sub-bass attenuation is not something that I can't replicate with EQ. No real benefits as far as I can see from the graphs. This has obviously taught me a lesson of not being swayed by all the "tuned by BIG BROTHER" hype.

Quad beat 3 tuned by AKG is stock inside the new LG V10 phones, which also sport SABRE ESS 9018 DAC and SABRE 9602 newest Headphones amplifier. V10 will be the first of the line from LG phone line which cater toward "Media consumption" in mind.....music, movie, photo, selfie, video recording and editing. My unit shall be here next week :)
