As thread title implies I'm looking for both a neutral iem and neutral open back on ear for home listening for a budget-fi £150 ($187). I've done some research already and came across some choices such as the hi-fi man re-400 but I'd like further opinions. As for other criteria a detachable cable would be prefferable but isn't mandatory.  For reference thus far all of my 'audiophile' gear has been various soundmagic iem's which tend to be v-shaped as far as I understand.

You should check out the Beyerdynamic Byron and see what you think. It's smooth and revealing. Terrific rhythm. Worth reading about, for sure. You want on-ear rather than over-ear?
