Chord Mojo is a must on the shortlist IMHO,especially good with acoustic recordings.

+1 on the Mojo. If you have the DSD’s then fine but would not spend good money on them for the 990’s and any dac/amp. I’ve taken several online tests and did pretty good but have pretty good equipment also but so hard to tell the difference so if you don’t have TOTL gear I would not spend the money myself but it is your money and your choice not mine just my opinion.

Thank you, I was thinking about mojo but im pretty sure she wont like it. With no real gain/vol knob and ugly plastic look.. And yes I agree with the dsd importance..

Well it doesn’t have knobs it is the only plastic part of the Mojo and the buttons work well for volume adjustment.

I was actually thinking the Mojo's design would appeal to a woman, it's so decidedly non-masculine-boxy-edgy, and those "cute color buttons":ksc75smile:
Regarding DSD - I am fully with you guys, I'd not spend the money on DSD files. A well recorded song sounds great in 16/44 from the Mojo, and the gains from higher resolution files are small. Interestingly I got the impression that the SQ advantage of the Mojo over my lowly Cayin N3 and HiBy R3 DACs is much bigger with 16/44 FLAC/ALAC files than with High-Res files or DSD. Since most of my files are ripped 16/44 ALACs tha works great for me.
