Kicking off the new year with a rare black metal vocal demo performed and recorded on June 22nd, 2005 by yours truly!

Download it here:

It would mean a lot to me if you all took a moment to download, listen, and share your thoughts!

This is the first time I have publicly shared any of my recordings. Don't distribute this file elsewhere. I'd like to keep it rare.

Oh, and here are the lyrics! "Embrace the scathing nothingness that lies ahead of your soul. Escape the shattered light upon you. Death is waiting in the cold."

Believe it or not, I'm an amazing singer too!

That came out pretty good! BM vocals always sound a little odd when they're not backed with music, so I'd seriously like to hear that on top of an instrumental track, I think it'd be excellent.

...EXCEPT, not with the extra effects. Your vox are good solo, don't need to muck with 'em!

Thank ya! The effects are just the distortion and reverb of a guitar amp, but they make it sound even more malicious, IMO. It's a very raw recording that was done on the spot, but perhaps someday I'll get around to recording proper metal albums...

I actually got an English teacher back in high school to draw the logo for one band I have planned, which would blend melodic death metal, black metal, and bits and pieces of more or less every other style of metal...but I would only do the music for that one, not vocals, since in terms of extreme vocals, I can't scream, yell, or grunt; I can only do BM growls, which I would do in a more raw "just" black metal band, perhaps even a one-man project. I do have a kvlt band name picked out for that too. Oh! Another thing I can do is crazy vocal noises. Yet another potential project, but with no lyrics. hehe

Any similar band like Wintersun? Really love the epicness of Time 1 and fast rifting guitar in self title. Waiting forever for time 2 to come out.

So you're looking for symphonic melodic death metal?

Children Of Bodom is kinda symphonic on their first few albums as well.

...Every time I see your avatar, I think of this image from my second favorite anime:

Old CoB is awesome. New one? Mehh..... What happen to them?

I think most of us feel that way. (I've felt that way for awhile and haven't even heard their newest.)

I bought Follow The Reaper in a mall (if I recall, while waiting with a friend to go to a movie theater...not that it matters, lol) in 2001 without having any idea what it was. Just thought the album cover looked cool. Freaking blew my mind. Still my favorite by them.

I remember playing the keyboard solo in "Mask Of Sanity" at half-speed to another friend who has (like me) played piano since a young age...and he commented on how he thought it was physically impossible to play that fast. But I think all of COB's keyboards are played for real (not programmed), right?
