Dungeons & Dragons for grown-ups!

But in all seriousness, I had heard of the MLO; just didn't remember that Dissection was so involved.

As far as esoteric occult stuff in metal bands goes, Absu is more intriguing to me.

Track 4 is my favorite on that one.

you are right on that mate-to me this is where black metal peaks

dissection-very good -i like the 3rd one aswell

Glad you liked it. I attempted to like it and you can imagine the hoopla when it came out. Black/Death-Metal band reformed after leader gets out of prison. It was a big deal and I thought I would like it, though it just didn't have the feeling as the early stuff for me. There is a DVD too of em live.

Still I am totally happy just to have the two albums. I saw the covers before I even knew who the band was. I saw the logo, then the art, funny how they can very easy sell us on stuff. As consumers we don't even need very different packaging.

I just woke up (or did I even sleep?) and am too lazy to make a new list. Just check out the black metal playlist I made, which showcases the diversity of the genre. (It's not organized chronologically or anything, though.)

Before, they were like melodic black metal with melodic death metal influences, then after, they were like melodic death metal with melodic black metal influences. I thought it was funny how they talked about the new album being so extreme, because it was actually quite polite for that style. Perhaps they meant conceptually/lyrically instead of musically? haha

I bought this reissue slipcase CD version in bulk: one copy for myself and the others for the small music distro I ran back in the day. I still have a box of them in storage.

You'd be surprised how cheap you can get things in bulk. I think I only paid a dollar or two for each CD. Could've been more like five dollars though.

Since you like the album so much, there's a new box set: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Nokturnal_Mortum/Lunar_Poetry/507645

If you examine that link, you can see that most of them are basically the same release with slight variations. I mean, only ONE copy was released for each variation of that box set. I gotta give them credit for originality. Metal Archives only lists 10 versions since it's more organized.

my mistake mate sry-i meant 45 re issues of a demo
