I realized that I may want a PMP. Which one would you suggest? In particular, anyone has the A2? I want something with great hd space, which is not too heavy or tiring for my hands, and that I can use to watch movies in the bed, at night.
It wouldn't be used as DAP.
Is it the best value around, or are there better options?
Let's talk, guys.

what about the zen vision w 30gb, i've seen them selling here for $269 USD with a $50 rebate available. Screen size 3.7" 640x480 vs the A2 at 4" 480x272.

Dimensionally both are practically the same size & weight.

I had an A2 and I was very happy with it. I only sold it because I want the A3 which offers additional mkv, ogm and h264 support + some additional 30 GB. Sadly the A3 was delayed and I am a bit pissed of. If you do not need the above support go for the A2. It will be much cheaper then the A3 and still is a great unit.
Another interesting player seems to be the IUBI 2500. If it would offer mkv support I would have bought it right away, since it is certainly cheaper then the A3.

I do indeed have an A2, and have had it for several months. On my old iPod, I wasn't a fan of the SQ of headphone out, so I used it primarily for movies. When I lost it, I almost bought another, but found Cowon, and was instantly converted. Beautiful picture quality, Video Dithering control (fixes granulated black pixels in dark videos.), 10hrs+ video life, I can practically watch an entire season of a given TV show before it lets up. The thing I do miss about iPod is the 80GB. Depending on how many movies you plan to put on there, you might find yourself yearning for space. However, the videos get copied on quickly, and you only need to plug in, copy&paste.

Definately recommended, I also put my favorite music on there, and the SQ is great with it. It'd most definitely not tiring for your hands, and I watch movies etc. Almost every night with it. All you have to do is prop it up sideways against a pillow, and you can watch videos through a 10 hour night. Great value, I got mine on newegg.com for 285 dollars. Creative Vision W was also considered, but the battery life is shorter, the screen is 3 inches smaller, it doesn't support text...the A2 is definitely my top choice. Go for it.

Also, I almost returned my A2 to await the Q5, but for one, that's gonna be a long wait more than likely, and the Q5 is going to be ridiculously expensive for it's Windows, Wi-Fi, text editor, all those gadgets of a PDA you'll likely never use. Just my two cents. (Q5 40GB will be around 500, 60GB around 550, if I remember correctly.)

I have an A2 and I love it. The codec support is still one of the biggest right now, even though it's around 2 years old. The sound quality is amazing too through the Wolfson DAC.

I definetely recommend it since it's cheaper than the A3 and there actually aren't that many new features in the A3 other than codec support.

The A2 IMo is still the best PMP out there, period. Xvid/Divx support, great battery life, nice widescreen. The only drawback is the lack of GMC/QPEL and VBR MP3 support (for videos).

As a DAP, the A2 is not that great. The UI can be really slow, even while playing simple MP3.

mkv and ogm are containers like avi. avi is a very simple container with a video codec (usually Xvid) and an audio codect (like mp3). Both mkv and ogm are much more sopphisticated and offer choosable languages, on/off with subtitles etc.
h264 is a video codec which offers a better resolution by even smaller files then Xvid or DivX.
If this is important depends on the source of the material you'll watch on the PMP. I am a big fan of anime fansubs and will be grateful about the inlusion of these formats.
Since I am lazy I do not enjoy using software to make unsupported files playable on my unit.
