Wow. I hope no one was hurt!
Needed to order some refills, so I also decided to order a Lamy Pico to both try out Lamy and see how it fairs vs the Fisher. Should be here Wednesday. The Fisher will win out for work use as I sometimes need to order in sub-zero, but if I like the Pico that'll most likely be with me wherever I go. Plus these lovely pens are all in budget earbud range, which I need to spend less time ordering from as I think I hit 80 or so earbuds.
I have quit getting any more buds, iems or headphones. Suddenly I am overwhelmed by what I have and I want to go back and rediscover everything. Two more iems to be delivered (one might be today) and that is me done.
I do not need more pens either. I have had three Lamy pens for over a year now.
The first one came with green ink not with the black stated but I like the green... it is fun.
The second one I paid less than half that price.
The third one... it's purple!
Just had a look at that Pico... wow that is expensive! Hope you got the pink
I just have one IEM left to be delivered as I'm curious about the KZ ZS6. I'm tempted to try the Rose Mini6, but seriously doubt it'd outperform my best two IEMs, so I don't need it. If I could find an Audio Technica EM700 or the like for a reasonable price I'd probably buy it, but the markup on them isn't worth the sound, so I keep hoping to stumble across a Chi-Fi option.
As far as pens, I have some hope that I'll enjoy the PIco, plus I really like the pictures of my color choice, so really hoping it looks just as nice in person.
Also I was curious if the Smile option for Amazon was available in the UK as it doesn't cost anything, and donates to the charity you select.
Thanks for asking. Luckily, I was the only one driving. A dog darted out in front of me, I swerved to avoid hitting it, and hit a metal storm drain. It caused a lot of suspension damage (and maybe some frame damage) under the car, including the bumper and other body work. I about fell over when I saw the total of the repair estimate! Anyways, the repair cost was so close to the limit, insurance just decided to total it.
I'm at the same point myself. I feel drowned in gear so I'm going to enjoy what I have. I feel like this at times:
Well, I am happy it was only the car damaged and not you (except for the shock over the repair estimate).
Not a collector, but I have found a few favorites over the years, wondering how popular they are with enthusiasts:
Delfonics wooden ballpoints- just for the desk since they aren't too tough, probably the finest point I've used, but most importantly have a satisfying click
Caran d'Ache 849 ballpoint - using the same one for 5-6 years now at manual labor type work, only one small dent so far. Uses 'Goliath' cartridge which is presurized like Fischer's (was mistaken here, it's not pressurized) and also works on coated papers & lasts quite a while.
It will probably take a month to arrive from Japan but I have this coming.... because of you
Just realized I misspoke here- Goliath cartridge isn't pressurized- I do a lot of writing on vertical surfaces with it so i thought it was, but i just tested upside down and it went dry- merely flows better in this position than a Bic I guess.
I'm always terrified when people take my rec's. Hope you dig it.
I am not worried...less than £6 invested
I have never heard of this.
The pressurized cartridge is patented. Fisher is the only one I've ever seen that has it. If there are others, they may have licensed the design from Fisher.
That looks awesome
Dude, you can't have pens and swords in the UK? Tyranny!
I will probably grab one of those in the near future.
Spent a good part of last night soaking three Parker jotters in alcohol to get them to work again. The ink cartridge had exploded in them and gummed up the works.
