Perfectly legal way to reduce your cost on an iPhone.
Go to AT&T and buy a NIB subsidized Treo 750 for $200 after rebates with 2 year contract.
Have the phone unlocked for $25, and sell it on ebay for $500.
Go back to AT&T and get an $499 iPhone and then transfer your treo service to your iPhone. Savings $260 including ebay and paypal fees.
This will work because when you buy a phone that is unsubsidized, ATT&T will let you transfer your contract to it.
