LED protection on CMoys

I've seen pictures of LEDs, which are sticking out of the case, but are surrounded by a metal protection.

Anybody know what they are and if they are available a either Digikey or Mouser?

Download the Digikey Catalog and take a look at page 2064.

67-1163-ND looks similar to what they used in your picture.

RadioShack also has several. 276-068 Do a search for led on their website.

Mouser has them too. Best to download their catalog so you can see the diagrams.

You're looking for LED holders. There are lots on sale on ebay, such as this:

Just make sure to get the correct diameter.

I will be placing an order in at Mouser... I can't seem to find this type of LED holder in Mouser. I believe I am using 3mm LED, like Tagent's tutorial suggests...

Anybody know where to find? Part number?

2 to a pack, these come with the LED's, but they're a trivial expense. If you find these on the web, they cost this much just for a single empty.

Thanks Tomb... I already have a bunch 3mm LEDs and I wanted the holders. I figured I was ordering from Mouser, may as well include some holders from them. I just can't seem to locate them in Mouser...

Yes, but I buy them anyway and take RS's LED out and put mine in. That's what I meant by a trivial expense - you'll pay more for the empty ones.

The big ones are empty as they come.
