This summer I was blessed with the rare opportunity to live in the nation's most expensive city, all free of charge! Sadly, the summer is coming to a close, and I must return to the little hamlet called Athens, Georgia this Sunday the 14th. I really will miss the city, but more importantly I will miss the great friends that I made here.

Particular thanks goes to Lan. You rule! Thanks so much for taking the time to help me identify what sound signature I prefer, and the gear that can achieve this sound. Thanks Oski for opening your apartment on multiple occasions for relaxed mini-meets at which critical listening sessions could occur. Romanee, I'm convinced now that portable gear is the way to go for me (check my current/future equipment in my sig! hehe) Bozebuttons, I thank you for organizing the biggest meet I'll probably have ever attended...the NY meet definitely marked my entrance into the Head-Fi world (however, my wallet doesn't thank you

). All other New Yorkers, I haven't forgotten about you, because you guys really made the big formidable city feel like a welcoming place to be in.

I hope to return to NYC in 2 years for graduate education

Best of luck back in school! Looks like you've made a good decision with the Micro DAC/Hornet portables to start, but I'm sure you'll be upgrading to that Meridian/Supra setup before too soon.

I think the portable setup is fit for me now, since I listen to music on-the-go at least as much as I do at home, and the Micro DAC/Hornet will better suit my tastes in music. I will have to get a home setup soon enough though, thanks

Now why am I considering a canalphone upgrade?

Interestingly cool! Didn't know many people have lived in Athens, lol.

I'm glad you enjoyed your whole experience in NYC. Now you'll get to go back to fresher air and more space which is good no?

You were pretty indecisive about equipment

and in taking it all in at once, you probably saved yourself a lot of time and money.

Sup Tim, glad to know you are enjoying yourself in NYC. Once you get back to this lovely town of Athens, make sure to have a beer for me, as you are 21 now no? We should have a minimeet soon and upgradiatis will hit like a biotch again.

Still 20 (shhh) I've got a few new items to bring to a mini-meet, but I'm still waiting for the Hornet to crash into my rig...GRRR!
