As title suggests, wondering if anyone owns both pairs and can comment on how they compare.

Lear Audio's BD4.2 (Custom) and Shure's SE846 (Universal)

Pricepoints are similar and they both have got their special thing going for the bass. Shure's got their 'true subwoofer' driver and the BD4.2 has the +2 dynamic drivers for bass.

I actually own(ed) the SE846s for several years and really liked them. I was going to get them reshelled as custom but they got lost in transit :triportsad:. The shipping company gave me the claim amount to my SE846s though! I figure I can buy a new pair of 846s and reshell them, but then the BD4.2s popped up and looked interesting.

The BD4.2 sounded pretty nice, more dynamic than the 846. I owned the 846 but only demoed the BD4.2 three times. This was years ago, so Im not sure if hes still making it.
