Looking for suggestions on amp pairings for the LCD-4. Consensus seems to be something like an Auralic Taurus II or HeadAmp GS-X II.
I’m open to everything though, really want to hear from people who’ve got it. My preference tends to the darker are more euphonic but I’m hesitant to get a warmish amp for already warm cans. So far I’m quite pleased with them on a Schiit Jot, and Nagra pre (local hifi shop has this $16k extravaganza) but I’m looking to give them the amplification they deserve to really shine. Upstream is a Bryston BDA-3 and BP173.
I’ve also got a Bryston 2.5B3 power amp that I contemplated running the headphones off of. But I’m a little worried about making magic smoke if I go that route.
