Hello current setup is a Burson Soloist / Burson DA-160.  Good transparency and resolution with the LCD-3 but it seems like there is not much low end impact that everyone talks about.  The Soloist is supposed to have enough power for these but sometimes it does not feel like it.  Im not 100% sure I am getting all I can out of the LCD-3. I would really like to stay with a solid state amp but tubes could possibly be an option.  Balanced / single ended outputs would be nice.  I know it's hard to get a amp that pairs well with both the LCD-3 and HD-800 as they are both picky from the get go. Any suggestions?  10k price range is not okay but 3kish isn't out of the question.  It would be a plus if the amp is also made in the states (for service reasons).  Thanks

You can go the easy way and get the Lyr, which will provide you the most impact you can get but it is tube based. I really enjoyed the Lyr + LCD2/3.

I seen the Lyr but it looks kind of like a sidegrade more than an upgrade from the Soloist. Looking to get something higher end so I can be done for a little while =).

Woo Audio WA22 is great with HD 800 and was pretty good with LCD-2 as I recall. Haven't heard LCD-3.

Oh god the Soloist+LCD2/3. I remember trying that combo right after trying the Mjolnir+LCD2/3 and wow, a huge difference. The Soloist sounded sort of slow compared to the Mjolnir, which I did not like at all.
 
For the LCD2/3, I found the Mjolnir to match wonderfully with it. A cheaper alternative is the Lyr, but the Mjolnir really matches well with the LCD2/3.
 
For the HD800, V200. Excellent match.

Cavalli Liquid Glass. Absolutely the best HD800 amp I've heard...Best I've heard with the LCD 2 as well. Can't report on the 3 just yet unfortunately. 
 
Find your favorite pair of tubes for each headphone and you're golden.

IMO the HD-800 is a better match with the Soloist than the LCD-3. Both sound quite good.
It's definitely not a slow amp. It's a bit laid-back, though not as much as my tubes.
When I listen to the LCD-3, I can't help wishing it was more lively, more like the HD-800.

The Soloist is a slower more laid back amp. For the HD800 I couldn't agree more with the Liquid Glass.
 
IMO, the biggest problem is there's no 1 amp that's fit 'em all (headphones).
 
HD800 thrives off tube amps. LCD-3 thrives with SS.

All are outstanding amps with both the LCD-3s and HD-800s.

Current price is $3750 for Liquid Glass, but it's being troubleshot at the moment and isn't available.
