I tend to frequent the Soundgarden in Fells Point, Baltimore. Occasionally you'll find slightly better prices on new cd's than, say, Amazon for example. They seem to carry import (UK, etc.) versions of American releases, with some frequency. This is the store I most often frequent, but I'll probably watch this thread for other recommendations. Store parking is free except for Friday and Saturday nights; if you park anywhere near the store, you'd be likely to pay anyways.

South on Route 1, near College Park, you'll find the CDepot and CD/Game Exchange. CDepot is less "indie" but it's a warehouse-size store nonetheless. CD/Game Exchange can have some good prices on used items (their strong point) though a hit-and-miss selection. In fact, I'd venture to say it's only good for popular 90's/80's albums you might like to fill out your collection with. It's been awhile since I've been to either, however.

I hate FYE's (at Arundel Mills Mall) prices but sometimes they have had something that the Soundgarden hasn't, on one or two occasions. Particularly, the Wrens - Meadowlands.

Good luck with your search.

EDIT:Just talked with my roommate. Record and Tape Traders is a chain based in the Baltimore area. Just for your consideration.
