Interesting new track and vid by Ivy Queen. "787" is essentially a pastiche of melodies and phrases by other reggaeton artists... Male artists to be precise.

Ivy cuts and combines them together in her own way though to create a new song, and tell la historia del reggaeton from her own (female) perspective. So it is both an homage to the pioneers of the genre. And also something new of her own creation. That is the essence of hip-hop btw (which Ivy definitely is)... Taking the old. Flipping it around and making it something new. And making it yours.

787 is the area code for Puerto Rico btw. The source of reggaeton. For the non-Spanish speakers (which includes me), you can turn on CC and auto-translation in the video settings for English subs, to get a better idea what she's talking about in the first vid.

New bachata vids by Romeo and friends, from the Utopia album. Still checking these out, and tryin to decide which I like. Many are on the brighter side (like most Romeo bachata tracks).

This includes a new track with Monchy & Alexandra, "Años luz". And many other bachata greats. As well as the new Aventura track, "Inmortal". Image is from Romeo's Facebook page.
