Hi friends.
For asking my questions, first there is a need to an intro.
I have an amplifier integrated (Musical Fidelity M6si) and I have a pair of Speakers (Dynaudio Excite x38). my M6si has a DAC built-in and a USB input (24/96) for connecting to a computer. I did that. I bought a fine USB A to B cable, But my amplifier dealer told me USB connection is nothing like an analog RCA connection for getting better sound quality.
.
In the other hand, I have an Audio interface (Steinberg UR22 mkII) from before just for producing good sound quality. My audio interface has a left and right TRS/TS jack (balanced/unbalanced) output. For using of an input of my amp and these output jacks I must use a cable. A TRS/TS to RCA.
.
Sorry for long intro. I have 2 questions. First, am I doing right as I mentioned above for cabling and better sounding? If the answer is positive, should I use TS to RCA or TRS to RCA cables?
.
You know, all of these is just for improving sound quality.

Best wishes

Just my humble opinion - you should scrap the TRS/TS idea. Use 3-pin XLR to RCA cables for the best connectivity.

There are also differences in USB cables. It's true enough that differences have less effect than analog cables. However, USB also carries a power wire within the cable. That power wire can be of poor quality, affecting USB-powered audio components and perhaps even introducing interference in the analog regime. Also in a different forum, a well-known tester demonstrated that the shield in many USB cables can be absolutely horrible, potentially interrupting the USB stream or even creating enough interference to bleed over into other areas. I'm not sure I understand the full ramifications of that, but it was enough to get me concerned. I guess even if digital, a good cable is a good cable, but a bad one can be horrible.

Dear tomb
Thanks for your reply. It was very helpful. But unfortunately my audio interface has not a XLR output. I know XLR is better port than TSR/TS by nature but as I told I have only TRS/TS output port on my Steinberg. I saw there is some good type of RCA to TS cables in the market. Do you mean I should not count on RCA to TS cables at all?
.
For example, please watch this links (I don't have plan to spend this much [I mean first link below]) But do you think these has bad effect on sound quality?

Well, it looked like to me that those were TRS/XLR dual sockets on the Steinberg. I guess those were just inputs, though.

No, you shouldn't have any issue using TRS to RCA. If anything, the single-channel TS is probably superior to RCA, actually.
