I opened this thread hoping some people can share some insight on the Lasmex L-85. They are rather new and not much is out there about them. I am seeing many reviews about their on ear C-45 but nothing yet on the full size counterparts. If you happen to own or have heard these please share some impressions!

Very early in, but I'm hearing a lumpy, not-very-extended bass, thin (lower) mids and unrefined treble. I did run them in with frequency sweeps for 24 hours before using. Also a connection problem, where the cable plug goes into the phones. I have to wiggle the plug to get proper connection (the stereo image goes all phasey and bass disappears). I eventually gave up and used another cable.

Other than all this, it's fantastic. Nice looks, great build, comfortable. Too bad about the sound. But again, things might change...it might be an acquired taste, so to speak.

Are the metal-looking parts actual metal?

Same thing I was thinking.

The pads come off and whatever looks silver seems to be metal, just like the sound.

These headphones look familiar:

It's not just the headband that looks the same but the baffle is also the same. These wood headphones are available on aliexpress by many different brands. Here is one called BOSSHIFI B7. There is also one on amazon.com called BearBizz.

Some of those woodies actually have beryllium drivers! Or atleast beryllium coated drivers... I've been unable to verify it either way. Lasmex version has a different driver because you can clearly see the voice coil. You can see through of the beryllium drivers only if the light comes from behind of the drivers. Beryllium drivers used in bosshifi headphones and other rebrands look very similar but not entirely identical used by msur and some other brands. Judging by the pictures I have seen the only difference is in the way the center hole behind the magnet is closed.  Here is a thread about the msur headphones: http://www.head-fi.org/t/797683/msur-n650-n550-n350-any-experience

Now that's a V-shaped FR on that B7...or is it a W? Anyway, it sounds like what I'm hearing with the L-85.
