I recently joined team LAiV and got their DAC, AMP and micro DDC. Wow, what an amazing stack that immediately shocked me with how good it was even when compared to my Chord Hugo TT2 & Mscaler combo!
Well done team LAiV!
The headphones below is the Grado Signature HP100se and they do sound sublime on the LAiV stack. Spacious with deep bass and detailed with no sibilance at all.
Tried the DCA Noire X's & the Hifiman Arya Unveiled on it too and they sounded equally amazing too!
I made the same mistake. Bought a new display for, I think $125 or $150 to my door and changed out the damaged one. Easy and modular. Now it's set to turn off in 20 sec. No more issuesl

Can I get a replacement for my left eye too? I noticed flashing lights in my eye around the perifery and then suddenly a black streak. A blood vessel popped. And now I keep seeing a floating black streak. Sh!t happens and nothing is perfect. Something you have to get to grips with when you get older. It's those laws of entropy that are unforgiving. Actions have consequences. Be mindful of the actions you take.
In other words, I would just accept it. There are other things to worry about or appreciate that are more important. Like: you have a screen. In hindsight the interface of my Denafrips is pss poor. Tiny LEDs, no remote, and I had to look up the manual every time I wanted to change a setting (nos\os).

Ha! yeah. I did it to preserve resale value, and it's a cheap module to replace. Of course, I have no plans to sell it, but ya know. I think a stronger warning about leaving the screen on is in order. I was clueless and left it on overnight and bam. Burn in. replacement screen is perfect and I'm on 20sec off timer now.
Thanks for the recommendation as I too have gone to the display sleep setting. I wonder if the display off also has sonic effects as that is now not drawing any power? I know some devices have that as a touted feature.
Btw you should see eye doctor or er asap if you haven’t already as flashing could be detaching retina and important to get treated immediately or could detach more.
Also Rutin supplement is good for vessels.
Sorry for OT.

I think the value of the screen and the remote are over stated. The screen provides no more information than a LED can (unless you're using a CD player as your source), and the remote doesn't allow you to attenuate the output, or navigate a list of tracks - the two most fundamental functions of a remote control for an audio playback device. If the screen showed some track data, that would be somewhat beneficial, but as things stand, it's difficult for me to get enthusiastic about either.
I'll agree though that operating mode and filter selection on Denafrips DAC are probably a button press too many.

Well, sort of. If you only have the dac. But even then, I have multiple digital sources, mostly I have to switch between tv and streamer. And it's such a relief to not have to get up every time. It's definitely not that I'm lazy but it's just annoying. With the remote it feels like I'm in the captains chair and control everything from where Iisten.
I know, I'm old so I watch tv to see movies. And to avoid the annoying ads I set the channel and watch time shifted so I can fast forward the ads. My video equivalent of muzak.
Together with the HP2a I can control volume and input. Although for my turntable I will have to get up and do the tea ceremony anyways. But that's not like kneeling at the altar of dac and squinting what input is active.
Ok, this thread convinced me to take a gamble and purchase the Harmony DAC eyes closed. It should replace the R26 in my HeadFi Stack. Should arrive early next week ...
