For sale: Lawton-modified Denon AH-D2000 headphones. These include the "markl mods," custom cups in Red Cedar (known for a rich, liquid presentation), and a Jena Labs cable that is NOT done by Lawton, but rather a DIY job done by myself. The cable is 5' Jena Labs wire (the cryo-treated wire alone cost $125) with a Neutrik 1/4" plug, and covered in techflex. Basic shotgun configuration. Price includes all Paypal fees and shipping in US48. In nice clean condition, broken in and ready to go. contact: email@example.com
$450 option: If you don't like my cable, I'll part with the headphones WITHOUT a cable for $475. Of course, without a cable, you can't listen to it. So, I'd be ready to add a cable of your choice. The original D2000 cable is really not so hot, so at a minimum I'd plan to add a D5000 cable.
They sound fine. I would guess the cable sounds about the same as any other cable made from Jena Labs wire. Lawton sells their "Copper Queen" cable with the same Jena Labs wire for $429 in 5ft. length. It looks better than mine, but I would guess the sound is 95% identical. The Lawton mods and cups for the D2000 is $429, plus the cost of the headphones at $329. If you can live with my so-so-looking cable, you get a total of $1187 of headphones for $625.
