LA Times rediscovers vinyl

Probably not a good time to hit the used record bins in the L.A. area.....

There have been a few of these little filler pieces in the daily's lately. I just hope it's not "real" enough that the recording industry starts stamping slabs using the same digital, overcompressed junk they put on C.D.'s

Without dredging up the whole "vinyl vs. CD" thing, I think everyone can agree that much of the magic of vinyl is in the mastering that went into a majority of the currently available lp's. As long as they don't screw that up, I'm all for a vinyl revival.

I like my cd player and I used to like my turntable before it croaked (I've got a new one coming though!). Somehow Jimi Hendrix "Are You Experienced" just doesn't sound right coming out of a CD player.....
