The band will loosen and the pads will soften up with time. They will become one of the most comfy phones out there. You can put some books between them slightly wider than your head if you want to speed things up a bit. Other wise give them a month or so.

Then it's the same case as my HD497s. I found that using a football/basketball speeds up the headband "burn-in" proccess by 30%!

Did he intentionally not type the end of the word fainting, or can he not spell it correctly, or did he actually pass out? I'm curious.

It's kind of a typo joke, reflecting his discomfort.
Look at the last sentence in his first post. Quote:

Don't worry, it's just a creative mind

I dont know if this can be done with the 650, but when I had the 497, I used to just flex the headband, do it enough and it will stretch. I used to actually almost bend it in the almost complete opposite direction. Whether you wish to try that with $400 headphones though is another matter.

i rather not bend it since the headband is made of hard plastic, and plus it doesn't really work even if i do bend it with my hands(wish it was made of leather)

right now it's wrapped over a big circular clock, at this rate, it might take days, although working great, no fainting happenin i'm afraid

i just used the hd600 box to loosen up the headband but before i did that, i removed the pads so that they won't get smashed too badly. also i extended the legs as far as i could. after a few days they had loosened up and were quite comfortable.

If they need more stretching out, try stuffing pillows between the two cups, that seems to bend them out without any risk of breakage. Worked for me...
