So, I bowed to the peer pressure, and like a young kid trying smoking for the first time, I decided to fit in and try the KSC75. Mine were about £15 shipped, which wasn't bad, but nothing comparedto the $10 that you guys have snagged them for.

Anyway, first impressions out of the box yesterday. Well, I say box, but these were packaged in some moulded plastic nonsense, none of the nice looking tray that I have seen in some pics. Out of the box my first thought was dissapointment, they didn't come with any of the case or adapters that I have seen on some pictures. Bit of a let down, but I didn't intend to use the case really, and I have about 5 of those gold plated things lying around anyway.

So, do they work? Well, they certainly are comfy. Almost too comfy for my liking as they seem like they're going to fall off my ears at a moment's provocation, but after walking around with them they don't slip all that much, which is nice.

The sound. Well, right off the bat these blew me away. I had tried the other super-budget deal, the HD201, and these are instantly light-years better than those. The sound is pretty clear and unmuddled, and most surprisingly, the soundstage is fantastic. I noticed this on some keith Jarret I was listening to, and decided to try them with the Stax test disc that I had on my iPod, and boy these are good. The recording is great, which helps, but these are hauntingly accurate, very cool. The only odd thing about them is where my Senns leave you with the feeling that the soundscape is "filled-in", these somehow give you the impression that the only places that exist are the places where the sound is actually coming from. I guess this is an artefact of them being slightly away from your ears, as when I push them closer, the effect is better.

These 'phones are simply stellar for the money, and will be a worthy addition to my growing collection. Highly reccomended. *cough*.

Yea I know, I got mine 3 days ago I have been listening to them mostly. At first I didnt like the clip ons, but now use to it and these HP kick! I cant believe I spent $10 on them. I feel like I stole these headphones.

FYI you can bend the earhooks for a tighter or looser (custom) fit. You have to fiddle with them, but once you nail it down...

IMHO this is the biggest advantage of the KSC75 over the older KSC35.

Congrats!! welcome to the team!

A "me too" thread bump.
£13 + postage from an Amazon UK affiliate.
Decent consumer grade packaging.
Very comfortable, secure ear-hang.
A cinch to fit one-handed.
Isolation as expected ie - minimal.
Leakage less than expected.
Warm fuzzy bass and mids.
I can hear an adequate head/soundstage.
At low volume some unpleasant "plastic" colouration of the upper mids is apparent, but smooths out enough if the volume is notched up a touch. Apparently this colouration may reduce with burn-in (do £13 headphones improve with burn-in)?
An enjoyable morning's listening in the office.

The only real issue I have with these phones is choosing which KSC-75 thread to bump with these comments.
A steal at £13

Whilst I agree with all of your above comments, this one struck me as odd. These leak like the proverbial seive. I can't imagine how much you expected these to kick out sound, short of having the speakers mounted facing outwards...

But yeah, for £13, you'd be a fool to start complaining... a steal!

Yeah, I didn't look too closely myself, but definately some KSC75's arrived. it was KSC75 all over my receipts and stuff, so I guess something has just gone screwy with his description.

Yup, the sound just seems more balanced from the KSC75, and comfort is better because the foam is better than the slightly scratchy pleather-stuff of the hd201's pads. They are quite different, but I prefer the KSC75.
