KSC-75 -- Help Me Enjoy Them More!

Obviously I love the way they sound (especially Kramer modded!), But there are two things that keep me from listening to them as much as I'd like.


1. Every time I put them on, I'm forever fiddling with the fit. If I put a bit of pressure on them the bass sounds more present. I can get a similar effect by turning up the volume, but I don't want to do that!

Does anyone have a good way to get a tight fit that stays put and isn't too uncomfortable?


2. Do you have your clips glued to the phones? If you just grab them and stick them in your pocket, the clips certainly tend to fall off.

Frankly, it's a downright miracle I still have both clips considering how many car trips and other adventures these have seen.

If you decided to glue them, what did you use and how carefully do you have to treat them to keep them together?

If you want to glue the clips, some aeropoxy should do the trick.

Sounds like you're looking towards a portapro. (same drivers in a headband design). If you do that, you can try a recable on one set of drivers, and if it goes awry, you still have one pair to listen to.

I find the clips a bit awkward at times, but have got used to them. Try experimenting with bending the metal portion to get a fit that's more suited to your ears.

Don't glue the clips on, either. They pivot on their attachment point, and this helps when getting them on and off. If this was fixed, it would HAVE to be fixed when on your ear, to get the angles right, and it probably would end up trickier to take on and off.

Will bending them every time mold them into shape eventually?? A permanent fit, if you will?

try my mod by taking off the guards. if you like the clip freedom, clip off the top part and put the bottom half back on.

but i think you'll be happy with a portapro

That improves the comfort quite a bit.

I don't want to spring for Portapros, but I do have some really uncomfortable KTX-1 around here somewhere...
