Hi Guys. I have a set of KSC-35s and KSC-75s that I use with my MP3 player. I bought the KSC-35s but found that they can be uncomfortable over long periods of time and pinch my ears. To get around this, I bought a set of KSC-75s and find these much more comfortable but not as good sounding as the KSC-35s...

Can any modifications be done to the KSC-35s to make them more comfortable? Any tips from fellow users out there???

ksc-35 clip hurt my ears a bit at first, but i got used to it after a while. I used to have ksc-75 also but now much prefer the 35 for its lighter weight.

The weight is not an issue for me. The issue for me is that the clips on the KSC-35s are uncomfortable and pinch the back of my ears. Can the clips be adjusted in any way without causing any damage to the headphones?

Can you swap the drivers around between the KSC35 and KSC75?

The drivers between the two are the same, so that wouldn't accomplish too much. Kinda like switching sr60 and sr80 drivers. And yes, some of the koss drivers are coated, some aren't, blah blah blah blah blah.. the difference in sound is due to difference in fit. The ksc75's have a tendency not to fit as tightly, so they don't sound quite as bassy.

The ksc35's tend to hurt the top of my ears after a while, too. But, if you want the 75's to sound more like your 35's, maybe try burning them in more, or bending the clip to fit more tightly.

I modified the clips on my KSC-35's to be more comfortable. First I used a real sharp knife and trimmed off the 'mold line' on the top and bottom of each clip (it was scratching the top of my ear). Then through slight adjustment and refitting, I slowly bent the plastic (be slow and careful) outward and more to the curve of my ear "top". Now they fit more loosely, but are quite a bit more comfortable.

Still I cannot believe people complain about Grado comfort. To me every single clip on I have tried is way worse than the comfort of my Grado's.

If it's because of loose fit, then wouldn't adjusting the clip help? At $15, it wasn't hard to make an excuse to take them apart and bring out the pliers...

Yes, One of the benefits/cons of the design is that it hooks to your ear, not to where your ear connects to your head (hence, it's either too loose, or it pinches, and you need to spend some time adjusting the fit for yourself).

Genius! I lost one of the clips of my 35's, and I just got some 75's. The 75's are definitely more comfortable but the 35's do sound better. I will totally try switching the clips.

The clip swap is a great idea.

Has anyone tried using a lighter to soften the 35 clip itself near the base so that the entire thing can be re-angled for looser fit? It's been mentioned by members before.
