I have the UR20, and it does press on the ears at all. Should be comfortable with glasses, but I'm not sure how much the two models differ.

I had UR40s (or actually I still have them, just not using them anymore) and found them very comfortable even with glasses on. Actually these phones are one of the most comfortable I've ever tried as they are also very light.

When I write I use glasses and out in the back yard I use sun glasses with the KOSS UR40. The UR40 are so very light weight and put very very little pressure on the ears. I fine the KOSS UR40 to be a great headphone. Of course my UR40 are modded.

Many thanks for feedback. Just 2 more questions:
1. How does the UR40 compare to KSC75?
2. How did you mod the UR40?
I did use the search but havent found too much info on these questions.
3. I saw in your sig you have SHP895. Its my favorite hp. How does the SHP895 compare to UR40?
Thanks

they use the same drivers as the KSC 75
do the kramer mod on them, remove the foam from behind the driver, cut it, and place it unded the earpads

I like the UR40 way better than my KOSS 75. After a while the 75 clips just bother my ears and I fine the UR40 to have a bigger and fuller sound and can use them hour after hour many times all night long.

Now for modding the UR40.
There are 3 screws under the pads. Without taking off the pads loosen the 3 screws but don't lose them and pull off the ear cups and drivers a little bit. Enough to take out the thick foam behind the drivers. Then put a couple pieces of cotton swaps but pull them apart and flat and replace them with the thick foam. This keeps the sound from getting tinny and absorbs a little sound. Them screw back the screws. Now take one of the thick foam and cut it in half. Then cut the half into a half moon Sharp. Then put the half moon pieces under and behind the ear cups. This gives the ear more room and a slight angle for a bit better sound stage and the ear never touches the drivers.

The PHILIPS 895 have a fuller and better highs, mids and maby bass but for sure a better sound stage. They have better detail and a bigger sound with their 50 MM angled drivers. I use the 895 for my music listening out of my stereo receiver amp. I fine the 895 to sound as good as many of my more exspensive headphones and with a better sound stage than most of them.

I hope this info helps you out some.

Wouldn't that, you know, completely remove whatever bass they have?
