Hey all,

I have some Koss SparkPlug IEMs and am wondering if there are any better foam pieces to use for them. The problem is that the stock ones don't really scrunch together well at the end, so it makes them difficult to insert. In general the foam just seems really cruddy.

I am pleased enough with the sound of them (after using superglue to cover up the ports) so if it's possible to find very good foam pieces to buy and mod them to fit the SparkPlug I would rather do this than buy new IEMs.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

For any who are interested, I replaced the stock tips with Shure triple flange tips and wow, these things are so much easier to insert. Used to take me like a minute or two of tinkering and fiddling to get the SparkPlugs to stay in with the stock tips. With the Shure tips I don't even have to pull the ear back or anything to open up the canal, just push and twist them in a bit and 5 seconds later it's done.

Installation was easy enough. The tube on the Shure tips is quite a bit smaller than the output tube on the Sparkplugs, but the silicone is so flexible that a little force and twisting should get them on there.

Isolation doesn't seem to be quite as good, but I was kind of expecting that based on the design. Still not bad though, good enough for my needs.

You can get a pair of the triple flange tips on eBay for around $6 shipped. I picked up a 6 pack which was about $12 shipped. Am definitely glad I did this as opposed to buying different IEMs. Now the Koss are about perfect for my needs, and total cost invested is like $25. Would definitely recommend it to anyone satisfied w/the sound of their SparkPlugs but not the tips.
