Got my used Senn 555 for a few days by now, I am not very impressed. Sure the 555's sound better (more clear) than my iGrado's, but for the much higher price they should be. Maybe I am expecting too much from the 555's.....

Anyway, have been searching ebay and found out the Koss Pro-4's are around $50 shipped, all well-used of course. Are they good sounding headphones?

I have read that they are not comfortable at all (hot, sweaty, pinchy, headache inducing, etc) but that can be improved. since the basic design is very robust, I can do some mods to the the headband and put a set of Beyer pads to make them acceptably comfy. Not a problem.

But how about the sound? SQ good? bad? How do their sound compare to the 555's?

Thanks for any info!

Depends. Do you mean the new ones or the old ones?

I could be talked into selling you a refurbished 30-year-old Pro4AA at half the ebay prices . . . .
