Hi all,
I previously posted about whether to get sony or philips headphones for under twenty bucks..but no one seemed to respond

Yes I was kind of expecting this.

But now I'm looking at the Koss Portapro2. I have a few questions. Do the headphones fit over the ear? Do they fold up? Can CD players/ipod shuffles/boomboxes drive them ok? And my last question is, I don't quite understand the comfort zone things. Do these things press the headphones onto your head and not put pressure on your ears? If someone could explain these to me in detail I'd appreciate it. Also, how do you adjust them to make them tighter/looser? I'm assuming there are notches which you can slide up and down to make the ear pieces fit on big/small heads?

I'm sorry if this post seems a little bit cluttered. but I hope someone can assist me.

I have the original portapros, but not the portapro2s.

1)yes, over the ear
2)don't know if the portapro2s fold up.
3)yes, they're easy to drive
4)I believe the portapro 2s don't have the comfort zone settings. Just the original portapros have this. Someone please correct me if I've wrong.

The original portapro comfort zone settings pull the earpieces away from the ears a little. This also takes down the bass and increases the highs a little, which is a good thing, IMHO. However, it's a little tricky to use. The original portapro headband is metal and you can permanently bend it out just above the earpieces to get the same effect permanently.

Don't know how all this would play out with the portapro2s. I've never heard the portapro2s, btw.

Thanks for the advice. I just looked at a picture of the portapro2's and I noticed those little black things above the ear pieces..what are those? and what do they do? Is that what holds the headphone to the head? Also how high is that from the top of the ear? I'm asking because I wear hearing aids and glasses that rest behind my ear lobe. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

1) On me the little black things dont actually touch my head at all unless I tighten the headband

2) Depends on your ears, on me the little padlets are resting on the top of my ears - I can slide a plastic knife through the gap but YMMV
