I've been a member of this forum for a while now and have purchased a pair of HD 650s, PX 100s, Koss Porta Pros and most recently B&O A8s. (I know many folks here don't like the A8s but I like the way the sound. I also find them comfortable and unobtrusive on the street and at the gym.)

I just bought a pair of Koss KSC75s that many people here seem to like and recommend. I am listening to them and the sound is very, very good. There is a lot of bass -- maybe a bit too much -- but this is not a real complaint. There also is a lot of detail. I bought them at Amazon.com for $20 including shipping and the value for the money is outstanding. They are also comfortable. I do think they look dorky but for me that shouldn't be a problem

Folks here really know what they are talking about.

I think these headphones are the most fun you can have for $20.

Yet another Head-Fier learns to wonder that is the Koss KSC75! Congradualtions on getting the headphone with the most value density in the world! They truelly are a wonder to behold. Quickly turning themselves into a mini-me version of the SR60 those clip-on are.

The two sound similar. I think there is less bass with the KSC75s. To my ears, the PortaPros sound nice but the bass is so pumped up it sounds unnatural. The bass is pumped up on the KSC75s but less so.

I find the KSC75s WAY more comfortable than the PortaPros. If I had tried the KSC75s first I doubt I would have bought the PortaPros.

Oooh Yeah!!!

Baby grado lives on!!

Enjoy theyre great cans. Imagine if we didnt have KSC75s... I guess we'd all have to make the jump to SR60s (not a bad thing...).

Yup, I just received my pair of KSC-75's, and they rock. I'm not really an audiophile (at least, I refuse to pay more than 40 bucks for a pair of headphones...mainly cuz I'm broke.

I think that if I had any self-control so that I could tear myself away from this place after buying the KSC75's, I could live very happy. Straight out of the iPod these babies are really sweet. To be honest, the Go-Vibe doesn't really do anything since they are so easy to drive. Maybe with a 75 ohm adapter I might be able to notice some improvement (tame the boomy

), who knows? At any rate, if most of your listening consists of pop and rock music, these really do the job.

I see your point about the KSC75s. The main drawback of them for me is that I'm not sure I would want to be seen on the street wearing them. I might look like "My Favorite Martian." I also sometimes listen to classical music and when I do I want my amp and the HD650s. At this point my iPod is about my only source because I don't like to sit still for long. I just got a Shuffle and I think it's just wonderful with the KSC75s. The combination is small, light, sounds GREAT and is cheap ($99 for the shuffle and $20 for the KSC75s). That's a lot of pleasure for $119 compared with what I've spent up til now.

The KSC series does appreciate good amplification. It's not a necessity by any stretch, but it can clean up the sound a bit. The oddest thing I ever saw was the KSC-50s plugged into a prototype BiCode amplifier (which itself was an oddity, electronic bits dangling below a hunk of plywood and suspended in the air supported on either side by a Sony CD3000 box) at the last Seattle meet. But boy did they sound good.

So good that I'm about to drop $20 on the KSC-75 at Amazon. Damn my impulse buying habits.

Having both the KSC75s and SR60s, for some reason I use the KSC75s more. It just seems easier to slip on the Koss ear clips than to break out the Grados. I haven't properly burned in either headphone yet, but so far the difference is very minor. BTW: Creative's eBay store is selling KSC35s for $20 (New, Overstock). I picked up a pair yesterday just to try them out and see if there is much of a difference (and if I they are even comfortable on me). Koss are definately amazing at their price.
